Welcome to Star Task (“we”, “our”, “us”). Your privacy matters. This Policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control your data.

Information We Collect

  • Account Data (Google OAuth): When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and a user ID from Google. We do not receive your Google password.
  • App Content: Your lists, tasks, subtasks, shared lists, and optional attachments (e.g., thumbnails) you upload.
  • Device & App Performance: Crash logs, diagnostics, and basic analytics to keep the app reliable and improve stability.
  • Purchase Status: Subscription and entitlement info (e.g., Premium, theme purchases) via RevenueCat. We do not store full payment details.

How We Use Your Information

  • Provide Core Features: Create/manage tasks and lists, reminders/alarms, shared lists, and syncing.
  • Keep Things Working: Crash logs and diagnostics help us detect and fix issues.
  • Entitlements: RevenueCat tells us what you own (subscription or one-time purchases) so features unlock correctly.
  • Support: If you email us, we’ll use your message and contact info to respond.

We do not sell your personal information.

Storage, Security, and Third Parties

  • Firebase (Google): We store account data, lists/tasks, and attachments in Firebase. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
  • RevenueCat: We use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases and subscriptions (Apple App Store / Google Play). RevenueCat shares non-financial purchase status with us.
  • Authentication: Sign-in is via Google OAuth. We don’t store your Google password.
  • Apple “Hide My Email”: If you contact us using an Apple relay address, we’ll only see the relay address.

In-App Purchases & Subscriptions

  • iOS: Purchases are processed by Apple. Manage or cancel in Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions. We don’t receive your card details.
  • Android: Purchases are processed by Google Play. Manage in your Google Play account.
  • Refunds: Handled by Apple or Google according to their policies.

Your Choices & Rights

  • Delete Account (in-app): You can permanently delete your account and associated data. This cannot be undone.
  • Delete Content (in-app): You can remove your lists, tasks, and attachments without deleting the account.
  • Access/Correction: Contact us and we’ll help with reasonable access or corrections.
  • Opt-Out of Emails: Unsubscribe from optional email updates via the link in the email or by contacting support.

Data Retention & Children

  • Retention: We keep data only as long as needed for the app to function or as required by law. When you delete data, we remove it and schedule backups for purge.
  • Children: Star Task is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). If you believe a child provided data, contact us to remove it.

Changes & Contact

We may update this Policy as our services evolve. We’ll adjust the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide in-app notice.
